Ouija Boards!

Some people may or may not believe in ghosts and spirits and things like that, but I sure do! A couple of years ago on I bought a ouija board to play on Halloween, and a bunch of us played and it was kind of scary and I remember it working a little bit but that was it, that was the last time I played until the other day.
Now let me explain to you how you're suppose to play. You can play with 1 to 3 people I think but there was 3 people playing the other night. Anyway one person asks a question and the other one or two people place their fingertips lightly on the triangle (not sure what it's called) and concentrate on that question and it should move on its own. It has the words yes and no and has every letter of the alphabet on it so when you ask a question it could spell out the answer for you.
Well the other night it was my, my mother, brother and my boyfriend. We were all in my room and were going to play. My brother got really scared and freaked out and got every holy statue, cross, and rosary beads in the house and brang it all on my bed and just watched us play. I felt okay because I was wearing a cross. But anyway, we started playing and we asked it a couple of yes or no questions and it moved and answered them. It was a little bit scary but not too bad. The next part and thing that happened really freaked me out. My boyfriend asked " what is my mother's maiden name?" Now my mother and my fingertips were on the triangle and neither one of us knew the answer, so it started moving very slowly. I then shut my eyes because I started to get really scared and it started moving faster and faster and I opened my eyes and it eventually got to the letter H. At that point it stopped and my boyfriend got up, ran out of the room and started screaming. His mothers maiden name did in fact start with an H. I got so freaked out and looked up ouija boards online and it said it was a gateway to another dimension and it can be very dangerous because you can let evil spirits out. I started reading stories and whenever something bad happened it was during when the people were playing the game like a candle going out, light going on or off or even a shoe flying across the room. I figured nothing happened while we were playing so it was going to be okay. I was still so freaked out and I called my friend Lisa who is a wicken, and told her what happened. She started laughing at me and said it was fine, after that I felt so much better. Let me tell you something though, if you're going to play be ready because it's not a joke.

As the semester is comming to an end

As the semester is comming to an end work is really piling up on me. I have so much to do and as I wrote in one of my previous blogs I procrastinate.
Well it's really bad right now. I have finals due in every one of my classes which are all papers except for my pysychology class which will be a regular test which I really hope I do good on. But anyway back to all my work. I'm a little bit behind in two of my classes which is my speech class and my discover new york class. Both classes I had something due about a week ago, which I completely forgot to do and now I have to do both of those things along with the final. For my speech final I have to write a 7 to 10 minute outline about what I want to become and then write a 7 to 10 minute speech seperate from that one and tell it to the class. Along with that I have a bunch of questions to answer from the text book which I havn't used once all year. Now besides my final I have to hand in a listening report which I'm not sure exactly what to do so I have to ask one of my friends.
In my Discover New York class my final is that I had to go somewhere where it has changed and take pictures to prove I was there. Along with that I have to do research on the topic and explain how different it is compared to what it used to be. Besides that I have to do something with a newspaper article and tell how it relates to something I havbe learned in the class and of course it has to do with New York.
This is going to be terrific. After this week is over I'm going to be so happy because all this stress will be taken off of me because everything that I have to do will pretty much be done with already and handed in for the most part. I just really have to stop waiting for the last second and I will be okay.

Thanksgiving

What is the first thing that comes to mind about Thanksgiving? Food! Lots and lots of food! Well let me tell you I havn't eaten that much in such a long time!
This Thanksgiving my family and I stood home and my grandmother came over. Usually we go to my grandmothers house and then my Nanny and Nonno's house (other grandparents) and after all that eating we eventually come home.
Well this year was very different. My dad cooked everything I think (not sure because I really wasn't helping very much, aside from getting rid of the food), but it was absolutely delicious. There was some sort of pasta, which I can't remember the name of right now, stuffed mushrooms, riceballs, potatoe croquettes, of course turkey and a few other things. I ate so much of everything and I was so unbelievably full.
After eating I took a nap and then it was time for more food, desert! YUMMY! There is always room for desert. But anyway there were so many pastries and cookies and it was all so good and delicious!
The football game of course was on as we were eating dinner but then it was time to take my grandmother home because she really doesn't like to stay out that late. So my dad brought her home and then he came back and we were all just relaxing and it was a very nice day. Later on that night I decided to go back downstairs and I was hungry, now don't ask me how after eating all that food, but I was hungry again. So I'll let you guess! And you probably guessed correctly, yes I had all of the leftovers. I ate so much this Thanksgiving, I really don't know where I put it all but I guess if I weigh myself you'll see it in the scale!

Nothing to write

These blogs are really killing me right now. I'm finding it so difficult to pick a topic to write about, so pretty much right now I'm writing about nothing at all. In the beginning of class I thought to myself 'oh blogs, piece of cake', but hey it's really not that easy. Updating slips my memory very easily and I actually thought about updating by accident or I would have completley forgot. My computer is broke and my laptop isn't working either so I actually wasn't even able to give in my draft for my final paper because I wasn't in school and I havn't been able to e-mail it. I'm actually at my cousins house right now and I decided to check my st johns account because my pyschology usual e-mails us important things and I can across the name Farley and I said to myself well since my computer is broken why not update my blogs now!
Thank goodness gracious I'm doing it now because I'm kind of very behind, but I'll catch up.

Changes

Today I went to Coney Island and man o man let me tell you how if felt so weird being there. I used to go there all the time with my mother when I was little. I remember going from my old house in Brooklyn to the beach all the time during the summer time. It used to be so nice and fun going there and it was always packed out.
Well today I went and it was so empty and different. Things really change so much and so fast. I was walking around and there was a sign with a picture saying "the future Coney Island..." It was very weird.
It's hard to believe how things change so much so quickly and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Change isn't always a bad thing, but still it's weird. It reminds me how fast I'm growing up and as we get older and after we have kids things are going to be so different.

Gas Prices

I hate getting gas. That's where all of my money goes, to getting gas.
This week I probably filled up four out of the seven days because I was too cheap to fill up my tank completely because of how high gas prices are, so I pretty much put in about 5 or 10 dollars a day to fill it up a little bit. Thursday though I forgot to fill up and I was on my home from school and the gas light popped up.
Now let me remind you that I live on the exact opposite side of the Island. Our school is by the Verrazzano Bridge and I live right by the OuterBridge. Well anyway I knew I couldn't make it home so I got off at the South Avenue exit. Just my luck! Where I usully go to get gas was all blocked off.
I then started to worry because I knew I needed gas desperatley. I eventually ended up near victory by my old high school and I knew there was a gas station right near there. Now at this point the line was getting really low. I was starting to get really angry because the people in front of me were driving 20 mph, and I kept hitting every red light! Eventually I got there and I filled up. I think the price was $3.85. The next day I went to Jersey to get gas and the price difference was unbelievable! $2.75! Can you believe it, a whole dollar a gallon difference! Jeez Luiz! These gas prices are really terrible and I really hope that they go down, very soon!

Midnight Run!

I think it was last week or the week before but I did the midnight run for campus ministry. I have my boyfriend to thank for this experience.
I found out about it through him and he did it last year, and kept telling me to do it with him so I finally gave in and said okay, and I'm honestly really glad that I did. I agreed to it but I really had no idea what we were doing or even where we were going, all I knew was that I was going to be home about 12:30.
We got to school and started making sandwhiches for the homeless, peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches to be exact! We made about 60 of those types of sandwhiches and 60 bologne sandwhiches I think. Well I was doing the jelly. It was kind of like a factory the way that we were working. We had one person doing peanut butter and the other ( me ) doing the jelly. Well let me tell you it got pretty sticky in the the cafeteria!
We eventually finished all of this and bagged everything and we still had about an hour before going into the city ( which I had just found out about ). So everybody just hung around the campus until it was time to leave.
There was quite a few of us and we all had to fit into one van. So we eventually left and started making our rounds. I was actually kind of scared because some homeless people aren't completely "there" or are sometimes dellusional and things like that but once we got to the first stop, I stopped worrying. There weren't many people since it was freezing out but the ones that were there were so nice and grateful!
It was like this at the other stops as well. You could really tell and see that they truly appreciated what you did for them and I was glad.
On the way back to campus we went around and said what we thought about the experience and everybody had something good and nice to say.
It was a really good experience and I'm so glad that I did it.

Hairspray!

Okay, well I went to see hairspray with my DNY class and it was SO much fun and I had a blast. After school I waited around for about 2 or 3 hours until the busses got there because I live on the other side of the Island so there was no point of going home and then comming right back. When they busses came we all went on and there was traffic OF COURSE. I couldn't wait to get to the city and when we got there we had a half hour to kill before the show started so they let us go wherever we wanted, which I thought was pretty cool.
Me and my friends walked to McDonald's since everybody was starving (except for me because I brought food on the bus hehe). By the time we got out of McDonald's because of the huge line we had to go back to the show and get on line. We got there in perfect timing! As soon as we got on the line to get in the line really started to get huge and in the matter of 5 minutes it wrapped around the corner of the block.
When we finally got inside I was kind of annoyed because we had the worst seats but hey the tickets were for free. So eventually the play started and I thought it was absolutely amazing! I honeslty thought that it wasn't going to be that great because I had seen the movie and I really didn't like it that much, so it was a pleasant surprise seeing how good it really was.
Eventually the break came along and everyone was hungry or thirsty again so we decided the food and drinks at the theatre were too much money so we went to the deli. We came back in prefect timing once again and the show started as soon as we got back.
All in all this show was pretty amazing and I wouldn't mind seeing it again. Next time I would love too see Spamalot though, because I heard that was really funny.

Halloween

WOW I havn't updated in a really long time so I thought I should write about where I left off. Halloween was pretty soon after the last blog I had written so I'll tell you about that evening.
I had come home from school and watched my brother and all his friends get dressed up and I felt miserable because I wanted to go go trick or treating with my friends like I do every year but instead I had to go straight to work. Let me tell you it really stinks. Luckily I didn't get out of work that late though, so I really can't complain. I got out around 7 o' clock and went to applebees with my two friends. The parking lot was so packed so I thought we would never get a table. So we went inside and and they told us the wait would be about 20 minutes so I thought to myself, hey that isn't that bad. About 10 minutes later they called us and we sat down. There were so many familys with their kids dressed up and they all looked so adorable. Even the people who were working all got to dress up and it was so cute.
Later on we met up with a few of our other friends and went to play pool and then went to someones house. Eventually my boyfriend picked me up and I went to a party with him and so many people were dressed up. All in all it was a good night and hopefully next year I'll dress up!
