I hate getting gas. That's where all of my money goes, to getting gas.
This week I probably filled up four out of the seven days because I was too cheap to fill up my tank completely because of how high gas prices are, so I pretty much put in about 5 or 10 dollars a day to fill it up a little bit. Thursday though I forgot to fill up and I was on my home from school and the gas light popped up.
Now let me remind you that I live on the exact opposite side of the Island. Our school is by the Verrazzano Bridge and I live right by the OuterBridge. Well anyway I knew I couldn't make it home so I got off at the South Avenue exit. Just my luck! Where I usully go to get gas was all blocked off.
I then started to worry because I knew I needed gas desperatley. I eventually ended up near victory by my old high school and I knew there was a gas station right near there. Now at this point the line was getting really low. I was starting to get really angry because the people in front of me were driving 20 mph, and I kept hitting every red light! Eventually I got there and I filled up. I think the price was $3.85. The next day I went to Jersey to get gas and the price difference was unbelievable! $2.75! Can you believe it, a whole dollar a gallon difference! Jeez Luiz! These gas prices are really terrible and I really hope that they go down, very soon!

Wow, this is funny. I was scrolling through the blogs, looking for anything interesting that might come up. Yours was the first one that wasn't in a foreign language or just advertising, and it turns out you're from Staten Island.
Well, up until June, I was a Staten Islander too - all my life, in fact. We only just moved to Pennsylvania this summer due to it being cheaper here for just about everything (well, except gas).
I grew up around Port Richmond/West Brighton (back in the 60's when those were still good areas), and spent most of my adult years in Rosebank, Dongan Hills, and New Dorp. Graduated from Port Richmond High School, and from Drake Business School before it went belly-up (when it was still operating down in Tompkinsville - before they moved it to New Dorp).
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi to a fellow Staten Islander. You can check out my blog anytime if you want. The url is:

Take care, stay focused on school, and try not to let those gas prices get you down.
